Laser Vision Correction Self-Assessment
How old are you?
Are you located in Wellington?
Have you ever been told you have keratoconus or cataracts?
With your glasses or contact lenses do you see reasonably well out of both eyes?
Are you pregnant or breast feeding?
Where are you located?
Answer:
You’re not suitable YET. If you are under 20 years old you are not suitable at this stage, as your eyes are likely to still be changing. We like to have around 2 years of a stable prescription before performing laser vision correction (LVC) to give you the best possible outcome. Give us a call on 0800 733 327 for more information!
Answer:
If you are over 65 years old then it is likely you could have the beginnings of cataracts. This would make you unsuitable, as you would need cataract surgery in the near future. Dr Logan does not perform cataract surgery outside of Wellington. It is best you are seen by a specialist locally.
Answer:
You may still be suitable but there is an increased chance of having cataracts which would make you unsuitable. A free assessment would not give us enough information. But you may have a medical assessment with Dr Logan if you are under 70 years old. Give us a call on 0800 733 327 for more information!
Answer:

Answer:
We would need to find out more information. There could be a number of reasons for this which won’t necessarily make you unsuitable. It depends on what your best corrected vision is. Give us a call on 0800 733 327 and we can discuss the next steps.
Answer:
Due to hormones that are released during pregnancy and breast feeding laser correction will not be suitable for you until at least 6 months after pregnancy. These hormones can alter your vision and therefore could affect the results of laser eye surgery. It is best to wait until your vision has stabilised, this can be checked during breast feeding but may need to wait until after you’ve finished breast feeding. Give us a call on 0800 733 327 to find out more!
