Corneal transplant
This is a major operation with slow visual recovery and some long-term risks of graft rejection or failure, which would require a second transplant. Two types of corneal transplantation are commonly performed – DALK (Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty) and PKP (Penetrating Keratoplasty).
